About the Team

Artists Hub on Market

Artists Hub on Market is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 2022 to develop low-income housing for artists in San Francisco and is spearheading the development of 1687 Market. The project is inspired by similarly dynamic developments found in major cities around the U.S., including New York (Westbeth, 1970 and Manhattan Plaza, 1977), Los Angeles (Hollywood Arts Collective, 2024), as well as Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Washington D.C., Seattle, Memphis, Santa Cruz, and many more. Many of these developments have proven transformational for the artists who reside in them and the cities where they are situated, and as a result serve as an important model for the impact that this project can have on San Francisco.

From construction to community development, we advance innovative solutions to meet the scale and urgency of the affordable housing crisis.

In San Francisco alone, we have 51 properties for families, seniors, and formerly homeless households in operation, serving over 7,500 residents with high-quality, service enriched, affordable housing. As of spring 2024 we have six additional developments in construction in San Francisco and are proud to be bringing over 800 homes online in the next several years.
